Struggling to get good pictures for your Instagram feed? Are you secretly envious of all the accounts that have beautiful images? Do you wish you could take great photos for your Instagram Feed?
Here are a few tips to help you out.
1. Don’t center every picture. Use the grid feature on your phone to place your main focal point in one of the inner 4 intersecting points. (Rule of thirds) This creates a sense of movement in your image because the eyes move around the image instead of just stopping dead center. It’s more visually appealing.
2. Use good lighting. Try to use natural light when you can. If you are serious about getting good images and there’s not enough light…there’s no shame in purchasing a little selfie light for your phone. Who cares if others frown on it… your pics will look great!
3. Background counts. You really need to consider the background prior to shooting. Too much clutter is distracting. A great way to minimize background clutter and place the focus on you is to shoot with a nice prime lens and a DSLR camera (send me a message if you want info on what to get at an affordable price). Cell phone cameras can work as well if you use the portrait feature. It can blur out some of the background elements as well. If these are not an option you can also move to an area with a solid colored background or interesting textured or patterned background (brick wall, fences, tiles, etc). Sometimes less is more.

4. Consider camera angles. Vary your poses. Use different angles for a more interesting shot. If you are shooting with a cell phone camera…avoid zooming in. You should just move forward instead so that your images stay crisp and not blurry or grainy. Be sure to take a variety of shots so that you have a few to choose from.
5. Get a photographer. No I dont mean hire one. It’s not necessary. Recruit someone to take your pics or even better use a camera that you can control with your cell phone… (I took this pic with my ?) FYI..I’ve never paid for any of my pics…professionally.
